A little more about Joshua.
Born in Neath South Wales, Joshua was a Jerwood Young Artist with Glyndebourne, and between 2015-17 was a member of the Opera Studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
Since leaving the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2014, he has worked at several Opera houses including the Klagenfurt State Theatre, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Bavarian State Opera, Garsington, and Scottish Opera. He has also performed alongside conductors including Zubin Mehta, Kirill Petrenko, Omer Meir Wellber, and Simone Young.
Outside of the opera world, Joshua has a passion for singing concert repertoire and has travelled extensively performing in a number of iconic concert venues. Highlights include lieder recitals at the North American Festival of Wales, Wigmore Hall, Nymphenburg Palace, and concerts at the Royal Albert Hall (Last Night of the Proms), Barbican Hall, and the Royal Festival Hall.
Aside from his passion for music, Joshua is an enthusiastic (shoddy) runner and is known to dabble in cooking.
“There are some very fine performances, especially from Joshua Owen Mills as the Duke who engineers the whole plot”. The Guardian
